Last Sunday was the end to an exhausting rush week, and the kick off to award season. As the first award ceremony, stars had their opportunity to make a serious fashion statement at the 2012 Golden Globes. I absolutely love award season, and the anticipation of seeing what Hollywood decided to don on the red carpet. The Golden Globes set numerous trends, from nude gowns, bedazzled headbands, and subtle color blocking. My top two favorites were, hands down, Charlize Theron and Heidi Klum. Both former models, these two starlets ruled the red carpet.
Charlize Theron’s romantic, blush tone Dior gown was feminine, yet sexy. Her ‘20s inspired side-swept waves, embellished Cartier headband, and light-colored gown felt utterly adoring. Contrasting to the feminine feel of the actress’s look, the couture gown featured a plunging neckline and a thigh high slit. Charlize is definitely on trend for this upcoming season that is filled with pale hues and soft statements.
Heidi Klum looked absolutely stunning in her Calvin Klein evening dress, paired with Lorraine Schwartz statement necklace and cocktail rings. I love the understated super sexy silhouette and the effortless look of this nude hued dress. I myself am a huge fan of bold jewelry, especially if it is comprised of turquoise. When trying on her chunky necklace, Heidi was asked if she liked it, she replied without a mirror handy, “I can’t see it, but I can feel it”. There is no doubt Heidi felt spectacular!
